In the last decade or so, British N Gauge has gone from a fallback for those starved of space to an inspiring scale in its own right. Modern N Gauge models from the likes of Farish, Dapol, Rapido and Revolution have broken into larger-scale territory with their wealth of detail and running qualities, and plug nâ play DCC sound is now the norm.

Weâve a real soft spot for N Gauge at Clark Railworks, and you'll always find a good selection from all the big UK brands alongside impressive numbers of their overseas cousins. Itâs often the only scale where long freights or full-length EMUs are viable. And, of course, if you are short of space â or just fancy something ultra-portable â then itâs perfect for you, as beautiful N gauge layouts have been built on bookshelves or even in shoeboxes!

One of those 'train in the landscape' shots...
If youâve been stocking up on all the wonderful American HO models we've had in recently (and if not, fear not â weâve lots more to come!) then you may be interested in our latest find. Because weâve managed to acquire a van-load of brand-new buildings to populate your stateside landscape. Mostly from Walthers, youâll find stations, sheds, mills and other industrial gems, with quite a few duplicates should you wish to âgo largeâ and put those freight trains into context.

Rounding off this week's smaller-scale news, you'll be pleased to know that our OO Gauge âAusterityâ running sample has been conquering all before it on our challenging test track. And weâre expecting final decorated samples at the end of May, whereupon weâll finally be able to give the 'right away' for production to commence. Weâll be confirming the digital sound set-up and prices in early June and aim to have âDubdeesâ whizzing (or to be more exact ambling/crawling) around your layouts in the autumn.
