Last week we teased a weathered version of our exclusive Rapido S160. It caught more than a few eyes and prompted many of you to ask: “Can I have one?” Well…

Yes! You might know that with a strengthened workbench team, we’ll be offering weathering on our OO Gauge in-house products, starting with the Austerity 2-10-0s when they arrive this autumn. But when Neil got his toybox out to spend an intimate afternoon with a ‘drab’ S160, the results were so good that we’ve decided to let you in on the action ahead of schedule.

So now you can have your exclusive Clark Railworks ‘Rattlesnake’ expertly weathered, choosing from ‘standard’ or ‘deluxe’ finishes .The latter adds highlights such as oil and grease to the rods and buffers together with pigmented accents on the boiler and additional work to the tender and coal load. 

You can have both DCC Ready and DCC Sound models weathered, at just £20 extra for ‘standard’ and £45 for ‘deluxe’ treatments. All weathered models will be fitted with real coal loads, and if you’d like a footplate crew to top it all off, we’ll fit one for an extra £10. We’re pre-weathering these models in batches, which means little or no waiting time when you order – just select your options, settle the bill, and it’ll be in the post within a day or two.

So weathering has finally come to Clark Railworks. And if you’re familiar with our large-scale masterworks, you’ll know that when we make something grubby, it’s just a bit special.
