Getting to Grips with America

What would a city made entirely from model trains look like? Ask Joe, who depite being our tallest resident is currently lost among the avenues created by a colossal collection of american HO models recently arrived at Clark Railworks.

Large stacks of American HO scale models piled in the Clark Railworks office, ready for listing.

And this is just one corner of the office! Don’t worry, he's bound to find himself again as he works through photopraphing and listing them. We just hope he has enough provisions to last him until then. But whether or not Joe survives, his efforts can be seen and purchased here.

We've been brimming with top-quality continental models in recent weeks; in fact, it's safe to say that for American prototypes in particular, there's nowhere to rival Skipton right now! If you've ever been tempted by overseas modelling, we can help get you started with great-value pre-owned models. And if you've ever fancied recreating a small slice of the Big Country, remember that North America offers plenty of opportunites for cameo scenes or sweeping vistas alike. Here are just a few ideas for inspiration...

A collage of photos showing assorted scenes from North American railroads. The photos provide inspiration for building American-themed model railway layouts and are a mixture of 'intimate' rural/industrial settings and sweeping landscapes.

Of course, if you'd rather stay on UK shores, we've generally got you covered: our large-scale activities at Ellis Clark Trains this week have a decidedly British flavour and may just tempt you into a spot of '7-mil'...
